Calcium acetate is used in the food industry as an acidity regulator, stabiliser and flavour enhancer. It is used as a bioavailable source of calcium in animal feed and in neutraceuticals. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as an antacid to treat heartburn and as a phosphate binder. In the chemical industry, it is used as a component of liquid fertilisers, as a catalyst and as a component of reagents.
